Postnatal Yoga

YogiClaire Mamas and Babas offers specialist online postnatal yoga classes for mum and baby.

This is a welcoming and safe environment for new mums and their babies during the postnatal period. The class is suitable for mums once they have had their post natal check up (this usually takes place around 6 weeks), after a c-section please wait until 12 weeks before joining the class, and for baby until they are mobile.

Classes will consist of a mixture of the following areas each week:

**working with the breath, and various breathing techniques to help calm, energise and relax mum and baby

**mobility exercises, to warm the body and help to relieve some of the aches and pains associated with the postnatal period

**specific abdominal strengthening exercises that are suitable and safe during the postnatal period

**pelvic floor exercises that are suitable and safe for postnatal bodies

**asana/posture practice for mummies, some of which can incorporate baby if you wish

**baby yoga stretches, and massage techniques to assist with relieving trapped wind, relaxing and calming baby

**we will also attempt relaxation/Yoga Nidra/meditation

Please make sure you have a yoga mat and you may wish to use yoga blocks and bricks.

Please be assured that you are in safe hands when you come to any of my classes. I am a pregnancy and postnatal qualified yoga teacher. I hold a Yoga Alliance certified 85 hour Pregnancy and Postnatal yoga teaching qualification. I am also a Registered Yoga Alliance 200 hour seasonal yoga teacher. I also hold an additional yoga qualification from Active IQ (Level 3 Diploma in Teaching Yoga).
